Definition of standard test approaches, test suites, and benchmarks of Open Source Software

The aim of this document is the identification of technological prerequisites and requirements allowing the establishment of common test and benchmark approaches for Open Source Software (OSS). The state-of-art in terms of testing techniques is presented as well as the current approaches utilized for testing OSS. Methodologies to evaluate test suites developed for Java OSS projects and to evaluate database systems utilized in OSS are discussed. Moreover, we present the results of the initial investigation done with Eclipse Test and Performance Testing Tools platform (TPTP) and Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP).
