One of the project objectives is the development of a CMM-like process model for FLOSS development. This process model aims to help in building trust in development processes of companies using or producing FLOSS products.

The trustworthy elements identified up to now in the project context were mapped onto CMMI to arrive at the OMM. The mapping reveals the trustworthy elements in CMMI.

Based on these results, a first version of the process model was defined. The challenge is to build a process model which is CMM-like but avoids complexity in favour of wide acceptance. Therefore the new model is also split into levels akin to CMMI, but with contents varying from CMMI. Guidelines on how integrators can use this model are also presented.
